Links: I love you internet

Sometimes I have to just sit and thank the Lord that I didn't have this world wide wackiness at my fingertips when I was in college. Sure, by the time I was a senior I had email and could check Panic and Phish setlists online, but nothing close to the fuckmuppet we've got on our hands these days.

In just about a week's time I've been able to follow a Syracuse game that wasn't televised on ESPN.com, download an FM/SBD of the MMJ show that I had seen just a couple days earlier, watched some whacky mash-up trailers, and laugh my ass off at a whole bunch of shit I wouldn't have known anything about if I was relying on a fax machine or carrier pigeon to connect me to the universe. Not to mention laboring day and night to put these posts up that nobody's reading. Pretty heady.

In honor, some music-download links:

Just want to hit you with that MMJ set Torrent again. I've downloaded this and have converted it to MP3 and will probably post a track or two tomorrow... or maybe the whole thing, but for now, just go get it.

Along those same pay-it-forward lines, I caught an excellent Dave Douglas set last night at the Jazz Standard which I will have a review (and photos!) of shortly. Not only should you get down to arguably the best jazz club in the city to catch one of these sets, but you can now download these sets the day after (for a nominal fee). Legally downloading high quality recordings of kick ass music the day after it happens? Have I died and gone to heaven? Go get you some Dave Douglas, you won't be sorry.

All these ones and zeros are connected to people on the other end, and usually you can find someone who's willing to do the heavy lifting for you, which leaves more time for pastrami. Jesse Jarnow is a heavy lifter of the interweb and one of the coolest cats you could link to, digital or analog. He's done us a favor of wrapping up all the new, only-played-live Wilco songs in one convenient location. It's a virtual mix-tape, so, when you're done getting your My Morning Jacket and Dave Douglas, delve into some new and newish Wilco, courtesy of JJ.

Finally, some total hilarity, courtesy of one of the most fruitful link mines out there,: [insert fart noises here].
